Wish you all a very healthy and joyous Navratra! Do you know that Navratra days are very special and there is a scientific reason why special fasting is recommended during these days in our ancient scripts. During these days in year our body goes through a special phase and as a result the immunity drops to low, so to avoid getting sick, our ancient religion books recommended Navratra week, to ensure body gets right kind of food (Saatvik) and stay away from wrong food (Tamsik), so that body can digest it easily as well as gets back the immunity.
आप सभी को नवरात्र की शुभकामनाएं! क्या आप जानते हैं कि नवरात्र के दिन बहुत खास होते हैं और एक वैज्ञानिक कारण है कि हमारी प्राचीन लिपियों में इन दिनों के दौरान विशेष उपवास रखने की सलाह दी जाती है। वर्ष में इन दिनों के दौरान हमारा शरीर एक विशेष चरण से गुजरता है और परिणामस्वरूप रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता कम हो जाती है, इसलिए बीमार होने से बचने के लिए, हमारे प्राचीन धर्म ग्रंथों ने नवरात्र सप्ताह को ख़ास स्थान दिया है, ताकि शरीर को सही तरह का भोजन (सात्विक) मिल सके और गलत भोजन (तामसिक) से दूर रहें, और शरीर आसानी से पचा सके और रोग प्रतिरोधक क्षमता वापस पा सके।
Make sure you have the right ingredients for the daily plan. Let’s go through some very important tips that can not only help you gain the required energy, but also prepare your body to recover immunity.
What to eat –
- Take your time…eat and drink slowly (very slowly). Feel every bite, every sip. Do not use any mobile, TV, laptop, or even newspaper, as when you eat, your thoughts gets diverted to news/program/screen, and the food you eat will never be same in your body.
- Avoid regular tea (including packed green tea), and make “Miracle Hunza Tea” at home and see magical results
- Have fresh coconut water, lemon water as often as you can! Coconut water is best drink you can have, it is full of minerals and electrolytes, it recharges body.
- Take rest, and take regular sun bath early in the morning. Take at least 7-8 hours of sleep at night, you will see the difference
- Meditate for at least 10-15min each day, and if you can combine 10-15min of simple yoga to daily routine, that has amazing results
What NOT to eat –
- Avoid all kind of processed and packaged food (like biscuits, rusk, bread, jam, spreads, juices etc), go for local & seasonal fruits and veggies
- Avoid all animal based foods including meat, eggs, milk or milk based products (including butter, milk tea, paneer etc). During summers if you really want to have some drink, you may take 1 glass of home made Chhachh or Lassi/Buttermilk or Curd at noon/afternoon
- Avoid all refined food and products (like wheat flour, rice items, refined salt, refined sugar etc), go for wholesome alternatives like Millet (Siridhanya Millet are best), Rock/Saindha Salt, Jaggery powder.
- Avoid eating after 8:00pm, this is very very important
These changes in your eating habit will have lasting impact as you will start seeing the benefits, and it helps body with right conditioning that it needs and as they say – you are what you eat, so eat right, eat right way.
