Back in 2016 summers, while watching a video and reading an article by Padma Bhushan Dr. B M Hegde I got to know about Dr. Khadar Valli, who ditched his US job to make India healthy. I started exploring more on millet and specifically Siridhanya Millet.

Have you heard of grains that can DETOX?

I was already using millet for my family meals like Bajra, Jowar, Foxtail, Barnyard but did not quite know the real difference and nutritional value they bring. Who can think that there are some miracle grains that have special properties that can detox different body organs – yes I am talking about Siridhanya Millet. According to Dr. Khadar, be it Diabetes or Cancer, these millet can get you out of any disease. 

Dr. Khadar’s research on Siridhanya Millet is very unique in the world and families that are using it regularly vouch for its healing properties and the benefits they have seen. One of Dr. Khadar’s lecture on YouTube lectures I watched, mentioned about the case of two distraught young lovers who tried to commit suicide by consuming poison after they didn’t get acceptance from their families for their marriage. The failed suicide attempt caused a nervous breakdown, with them being bed-ridden at the KR Hospital in Mysuru. A week later, they approached Dr. Vali, who helped them out of their misery and both recovered fully with his millet based food protocols. So imagine, grains successfully eliminated poison from the human body.

According to Dr Khadar, a simple lifestyle, with the right kind of food, facilitated by the right agricultural practices, is his prescription for a healthier world.

Contrary to common belief millets are very easy to cook, and you can cook food quicker, tastier and of course healthier. Eat as much you like while it heals your body. What else one could ask for?

Millet can be consumed in in many ways – gruel (millet ambali), porridge (millet ganji), daliya, khichdi, or just like rice (millet rice, millet pulao), or you can make breads (millet roti, millet paranta, millet bread). You can even bake it to make Millet Cakes, Millet Cookies, millet Laddus and of course many millet snacks like Millet Samosa, Millet Kachori, Millet Kabab.
