Being a wholesome food (aka raw food) fan and half-vegan (explained elsewhere – it is a story in itself ;)), I tend to spend little time eating out, and quite selective in what I order when I eat out or order online. I do love to explore food joints that offer variety that have options for foodies like me too.
During our visit to DLF 4, Galleria Market, Gurgaon with family, we happened to stop at Chaayos, and entered with a bit of uncertainty and hesitation but we were pleasantly surprised by the options at offer.
We were greeted by the server at counter, that did the trick to distract us from a bit suffocating air that welcomed us at first. We were looking for a nice black tea and some ‘healthy’ snack which is guilt-free. Server handed over menu as we found our way towards corner of a large table. Loved the ambience, and quickly we were checking out the posters all around us, quite innovative way to engage customers! Really, loved it!
While we were checking out menu, a server picked our contact information on a tablet to register us. Best part – it took us just 5 minutes to select and order and we ordered… ‘Sulemani Nimbu Chai‘ (Black Lemon Tea) with ‘Homemade Upma‘.
Black Lemon Tea aka Sulemani Nimbu Chai comes in a beautiful small glass. I really liked the way it was served, the touch of ‘Nimbu’ (Lemon) and color of the ‘Chai‘ was just perfect and inviting!
‘Homemade Upma‘ was served with green thick mint chutney – served on side. It was too simple to be called ‘homemade’, I would have added nuts, but the taste was good – no extra oil/ghee, made it like me. A few nuts and bits of veggies were missing, but was not disappointing.
I would love to go back for a good times at Chaayos, so guys keep it up!
